1. Overview
This Cookie and Tracking Policy explains how Layer IQ Technologies, Inc. ("Layer IQ," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar tracking technologies on our website at layer-iq.com and its sub-domains (the "Site") and within the Layer IQ platform (the "Service").
This policy supplements our Privacy Policy. For information about how we collect, use, and protect your personal data, please see the Privacy Policy.
3. How we use cookies and tracking technologies
We use the following categories of cookies and tracking technologies. Note that the Layer IQ platform (authenticated application) and the Layer IQ marketing site use different tracking configurations.
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the Site and Service to function. They enable core functionality such as authentication, session management, security, and access control. You cannot opt out of these cookies because the Site and Service cannot operate without them.
Examples: Auth0 session cookies, CSRF protection tokens, load balancer cookies.
In the authenticated application, Auth0 session cookies are the only cookies set. No analytics or marketing cookies are used within the application.
3.2 Functional cookies
These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization on the marketing site, such as remembering your preferences, language settings, and display choices. If you disable these cookies, some features may not work as intended.
Examples: language preference, timezone, consent preferences (stored in localStorage by c15t).
3.3 Analytics and tracking
We use different analytics approaches on our marketing site and authenticated application:
Marketing Site (layer-iq.com):
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4): Collects website traffic data including page views, session duration, referral source, and user demographics. GA4 sets cookies (including
_gaand_ga_*) to distinguish users and track sessions. Requires consent. - HubSpot: Tracks visitor interactions for marketing analytics, including page views, form submissions, and content engagement. HubSpot sets cookies (including
__hssc,__hssrc,__hstc, andhubspotutk) to identify visitors and track sessions. Requires consent.
Authenticated Application:
- PostHog: Used for product analytics to track feature engagement and in-app behavior. PostHog is configured with memory-only persistence (
persistence: 'memory'), meaning it does not set any cookies or write to localStorage. Session tracking operates within a single page session only and does not persist across page reloads. Because PostHog stores nothing in the browser, no consent banner is required for PostHog in the authenticated application.
3.4 Marketing and advertising cookies
On the marketing site, HubSpot may set cookies for marketing purposes, including tracking email campaign interactions, identifying return visitors, and measuring content engagement for lead scoring. Google Analytics 4 may also be used to support marketing measurement, including campaign attribution and audience insights. These cookies require your consent where applicable under local law.
No marketing or advertising cookies are used within the authenticated application.
6. Third-party services
The following third-party services may set cookies or process tracking data through our Site and Service:
| Provider | Purpose | Where used | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) | Website analytics, marketing measurement | Marketing site | policies.google.com/privacy |

| HubSpot, Inc. | Marketing analytics, visitor tracking, lead scoring | Marketing site | legal.hubspot.com/privacy-policy |
| Stripe, Inc. | Payment processing | Authenticated app | stripe.com/privacy |
| Auth0 (Okta, Inc.) | Authentication | Both | auth0.com/privacy |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Bot protection | Both | cloudflare.com/privacypolicy |
We do not control third-party cookies. Please review their privacy policies for details on how they process your data.
7. Managing cookies in your browser
In addition to using our cookie consent tool on the marketing site, you can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View cookies stored on your device
- Delete some or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific or all sites
- Set preferences for first-party vs. third-party cookies
Please note that blocking or deleting cookies may affect the functionality of the Site and Service. For information on managing cookies in your browser, visit your browser's help documentation.
8. Do Not Track
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is currently no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. Accordingly, Layer IQ does not currently respond to or alter its practices upon receiving DNT signals. You can manage your tracking preferences through our cookie consent tool or your browser settings.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie and Tracking Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the cookie consent banner or other reasonable notice.
